The transformation of an architectural feature, a staircase, viewed on twin screens, acts as a metaphor for the circumstances under which spatial boundaries become claustrophobic.
The perception of a hostile environment, the insecurity and uncertainty that provoke the repetition of actions cease at the moment when the space is broken open. As a result, possibilities of a new existence open up.
