Movement relates to architectural space in this piece. Shifts of choreography respond to physical features: walls, partitions, window bars…The dancing figure sometimes seeks to fuse with the walls as if they might offer shelter. Other architectural features obstruct the desire for movement, blocking, revealing and finally defeating it.
